I began volunteering at CBF for almost a year. It has been one of my favorite places to be. I have never seen such organized, caring, compassionate people run an organization. The work (if you can call it that) is so satisfying and it feels wonderful to play a small part in helping so many who are less fortunate. The clothing is passed on with such dignity and care. It is heartwarming to see people pick up their bags like they are opening Christmas presents! The donations received are sorted quickly and efficiently and bags are assembled with care. I simply love this organization and those associated with it and it is an honor to volunteer there!!!
I found Clothed By Faith sort of by accident and I have been volunteering there every week since! They do such good stuff and really care about the community they serve. That’s always been evident, but after Hurricane Harvey, these people just worked tirelessly! Honestly, I know I work pretty hard when I’m there, but I’m SO blessed by being there that I leave energized and I can’t wait to come back. It’s a very family friendly place to volunteer. My 17 year old son has been coming with me every week for the last year. And when my daughter comes in town she always wants to go help out there. Really, it’s hard for me to say enough good about it. They make their volunteers feel like they really are a part of something and they truly love the people they serve.
I saw an article about Clothed By Faith in a local newspaper one day and was very impressed by the story! I decided to donate clothing to them. When they opened the door to accept my donation, I saw people volunteering. I then went home and contacted several friends and told them to clean out their closets and donate to this new organization I found. I signed up to volunteer and have loved being a part of this organization since day one! I have made new friends as a result of volunteering. Everyone is so sweet and kind. We have basically become family. CBF is the most organized group I have ever been a part of. I am totally impressed with the founder and her staff. They are always so grateful for our time there and are constantly doing things to show their appreciation. I cannot imagine my life without CBF at this point. I am the lucky one who benefits from my time there. I am thankful I can be of service. I enjoy doing things for others. It is a very rewarding experience!
Volunteering at CBF has changed my life in many ways. What I took for granted before, I realized how fortunate and blessed my family is. I love volunteering at CBF, you are all an inspiration to me. I know from the bottom of my heart the outpouring of love and concern for the needy is genuine. Our community is truly blessed to have CBF.
Although I have been collecting and donating items for Clothed By Faith for a number of years, I have only been volunteering at this amazing charity since Hurricane Harvey hit. For me the thing that sets Clothed By Faith aside from some other organizations is the love, care and attention they put into every request. A thing you often hear said is “if you wouldn’t give it to a friend we don’t want to give it to our clients”. That level of attention to detail and love for their clients shows in the bags that are picked. The care and attention to detail is unbelievable! Shoes are beautifully presented in a ribbon tied bag. In my opinion they provide more than clothes, they provide hope, a new start and a way forward
Throughout the almost 2 years that I have had the privilege of serving as a volunteer at this wonderful charitable organization I have felt blessed by the outpouring of love and kindness given through the generosity of many devoted people. It is important to note that the founders , Abi, Suzanne and Audrey and many of their staff are from the U.K. and have devoted their lives to helping people in our community. I for one will always be extremely grateful for being involved in this truly incredible charity.
I learned about Clothed by Faith from two friends in completely different social circles. This stands out to me because word of mouth quickly passes when there is a credible, intentional, dignified and honest effort afoot to help people. We think we organize and pack clothing to help others. The help to ourselves comes back to us in joy and learning and perspective. We also learn from each other and help one another in prayer or in example. The organization is no small feat and is impressive. Organizing clothing is just one aspect. All in all, this is an effort and organization I respect and enjoy and I feel a part of something good.
Approximately 4 years ago, I was newly retired and praying for volunteer opportunities in the Katy area. A friend mentioned CBF and gave me contact information. I quickly felt “at home” working there helping sort and shelve the donated clothes. I absolutely love putting bags together for clients and this part of the ministry! It is very rewarding and such a blessing to hear stories of gratitude from the ones who receive the bags! This is an awesome outreach to our community and an opportunity to share God’s love with them.
I have had the pleasure of volunteering at Clothed by Faith since September 2016. I regularly volunteer every Monday when I am not working as a substitute teacher. I really try to keep my Mondays open, because I love volunteering here!
