Thank you for only donating your GENTLY USED or NEW clothing to Clothed by Faith – we cannot do what we do without your help. Your donation will help us provide one week’s worth of clothing to children and adults in need throughout the Greater Houston area.
When you donate please only give fresh, quality clothing & shoes that are in good condition. Consider if your items will provide the dignity, comfort & confidence we strive to give our clients.
Drop bagged donations (NO BOXES OR CLOTHING ON HANGERS) at either BRANCH or at a Clothed by Faith CLOTHING DONATION BIN.

What do we do with donations we can’t give to our clients?
Some donated items may be too worn or would not give dignity to our clients OR they may be luxury / high-cost items, designer clothing or bags, out of season items, vintage items or cocktail / formal wear.
In 2020 we recycled over 84 tons of shoes & clothing
ITEMS THAT ARE TOO WORN; WE RECYCLE:
Sustainability, recycling and carbon footprint have all become buzzwords in today’s society where creating a positive impact on the local community and protecting our environment is becoming more important by the day. The mission of Clothed by Faith relies on the principle of reusing gently used clothing which helps to reduce waste as well as satisfy an essential need for clothing among the underserved. However, recycling is also a big part of what we do. When we speak of Clothed by Faith’s recycling operations we are not referring to reusing donated, gently used clothing. We are referring to processing donations that are unsuitable to be passed on as clothing directly to our clients.
What do we do with these donations? If we were to throw them away we would be contributing to the 8.75 billion pounds of cloth waste that is sent to landfills and incinerators in the US where they would either take time to decompose or be converted into carbon emissions in the incinerator. Instead Clothed by Faith sends these garments to an organization that specializes in recycling textiles where they are graded and converted using energy-efficient processing into various materials that may ultimately return to the consumer as home insulation, carpet padding, redesigned clothing and rags. The organization Clothed by Faith uses also sends items to 3rd world countries which in turn creates jobs and income in those areas.
The United States recycles billions of pounds of clothing, shoes, belts, purses and other accessories every year and Clothed by Faith is committed to this environmentally conscious activity. In 2020 we generated 84 tonnes of recycling material and it remains a core part of our operations, providing an income stream that helps to support our clothing philanthropy.
HIGH VALUE ITEMS; we may convert them into cash and purchase several items for our clients
Occasionally we receive donated items of high value that are unsuitable for passing on directly to our clients. Sometimes this is because the style or nature of the item is unsuitable (for example, stiletto heels) or because more value can be derived from selling the item than including it in a clothing bag (for example, we can convert one high value item into cash that is then used to purchase several items for more than one client).
If we receive items like these we MAY try and sell them on our ebay FOR CHARITY STORE. This is a virtual shop that provides us with a platform to sell these high end items and promote visibility so that the general public has better access to and awareness of what is available.
